A well-designed porch is one of the highest-impact small projects you can do — it transforms how the house is approached, gives somewhere for muddy boots and parcels, and adds a secondary lock point at the front. We design porches to look like they were always part of the house.
Most porches under 3 m² are exempt from Building Regulations and fall under Permitted Development for planning, provided they're glazed at door level and not heated. Larger or insulated porches need full Building Regulations compliance.
Construction is usually 2–4 weeks. We typically excavate and pour foundations in week 1, build brick/blockwork in week 2, fit roof and door in week 3, and finish internally in week 4.
