Little Aston sits over the Staffordshire border, which catches people out — despite the B74 postcode it is Lichfield District Council that determines planning here, not Birmingham. That single fact changes the submission process, the fee scale and the design guidance a scheme is judged against.

The housing is unusually consistent: large detached homes on generous plots, many of them within or around Little Aston Park.
